Membership Requirements

The U.S. Federation of Batto Do is open to any individual, group or dojo that is committed to
supporting the Federation and its ideals and goals.  

Admission to the Federation is done by completing the application form and submitting it to the
Federation Membership Committee.  The Committee will review all applications and decide whether
admission is possible or not.

The Admission Committee will retain the right to review all memberships and determine the need for
revoking membership at any time.

All Federation membership dues are due on the 1st day of February of each calender year.  A late fee of
$25 per dojo and $10 per individual will be assessed on fees that are not received by the 1st day of
March.

Failure to pay fees on time will result in review of the membership by the Admissions Committee and
could result in dismissal from the Federation and forfeiture of all paid fees and dues.

Upon acceptance in the Federation, members will receive a U.S. Federation of Batto Do Membership
Booklet.  This will be used as a form of identification and record booklet of the members participation in
Federation seminars and Tai Kai.  Spaces will be available for instructor signature to verify attendance.  A
specified number of training seminars and Tai Kai attendance are required to become eligible for testing.

U.S. Federation of Batto Do embroidered shirts and jackets will be available for purchase.


Individual Membership Benefits

Ability to train at Hombu or any approved branch dojo.

Instruction in the Shoden Seitei  Kata and Chuden Seitei Kata of the Zen Nihon Batto Do Renmei.

Instruction in Tameshigiri.

Eligibility to compete in Federation sponsored Tai Kai.

Dan rank testing and certification.

Mudan (unranked):     $ 20
Shodan:                      $ 30
Nidan:                         $ 40
Sandan:                      $60
Yondan:                      $80
Godan:                       $100



Dojo Membership

All dojo members must have individual memberships.

Dojo must have four or more members.


Benefits For the Dojo

Dojo can host Federation sponsored Training seminars.

Dojo can host Federation sponsored Tai Kai.  Federation will supply Judges.

Certificate of Federation membership for Dojo.

Invitation to special Hombu  seminars for Dojo Kaicho.

Exclusive Batto-do training materials such as booklets and video tapes.


Dojo Fees

$100 per year dojo fee.

Instructor travel/lodging expenses plus $20 per student fee when hosting seminar.

Judges travel/lodging expenses when hosting a Tai Kai.
